Florence, Senior Consultant

"Consulting!". What an attractive job, but what is it really? That was my first question when starting at Roland Berger. The immediate response was to be directly staffed on a project abroad, on a due diligence in the transport equipment business. Due diligence projects are short (three to four weeks on average), and therefore very intense. In this short time frame we analyzed the market for transport equipment through client interviews, extensive research, and expert contacts. I was responsible for one track of the project, giving me the opportunity to work independently and prove my competences. Being abroad for my first assignment was quite challenging and exciting.

I was awed at how fast and how much you can learn in such a short amount of time. Moreover, you can enhance both your hard and soft skills, which makes this job really interesting. You interact continuously with people from various "universes". You are exposed to Roland Berger colleagues worldwide, to external experts, and to client personnel at all levels, from operational employees to top managers.

One aspect I had not expected is how much fun we have while working. I really enjoy working in teams. Having a good atmosphere among colleagues is really important. It makes your job much easier and stimulating. In this field, Roland Berger is definitely the right choice to feel at "home". Life at the office is friendly and relaxed: you work in a young environment with fun colleagues who are passionate about their jobs and always there to help you out.
