My personal history prior to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants
In looking back, my professional career actually started one year prior to graduating from university. Indeed, as a commercial engineer (IAG – UCL), I researched and wrote my thesis in conjunction with a global telecommunications operator, developing the business plan for further expansion in Belgium. Driven by a genuine passion for the industry, I decided to pursue a career in telecoms.
After only a few months in Belgium, I was proposed new challenges within the group in Paris, where I worked for another three years. In that time, I managed to complete the CEMS Master in Management program which I had undertaken in parallel.
At this point, the telecoms industry was showing signs of a downturn, which I didn't deem to be very beneficial for a young professional willing to acquire new experiences and take on new responsibilities. Therefore, I decided to consider management consulting, which was still an item on my professional "to do" list, and radically changed my career path.

There is not a single day when I don't realize how much I like my job. Interacting with top executives from various industries is terribly exciting, and discussing the priorities on their agenda is simply fascinating and enriching.
Most appealing to me is the impact that you have as a consultant on key decisions companies make and directions they take. To give you an example, during my last project I was in charge of defining the strategy to be deployed by one of the five industries targeted by the Walloon Marshall Plan… to be continued!
