AURELIEN, JUNIOR CONSULTANT
My personal history prior to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants
I graduated from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve as a Mechanical Engineer, specialized in Energy. The topic of my master's thesis was to model the marine currents in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia, a very exciting theme that combined all the skills I had learned the years before. I then decided to extend my studies by completing a Masters in General Management at the Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School.
As a student, I always tried to broaden my horizon by engaging in extracurricular activities. I also love travelling and discovering different cultures. I had the chance to travel the world, especially in the Mediterranean and in Africa which definitely changed my life and my perspectives.
Why did I choose Roland Berger Strategy Consultants?
Although working in the industry could have been a logical choice after my studies, I decided to join the consulting world mainly for its fast learning curve, the opportunity to discover different sectors and the variety of projects and assignments.
What made me choose for Roland Berger were the people that I first met at a wonderful champagne tasting event and then during the recruiting interviews. I was immediately attracted by the great atmosphere that prevails here, enabling everyone to develop him- or herself in a dynamic and challenging environment with very smart, young and open colleagues. Besides that, Roland Berger is the only top consulting firm with European roots and has an excellent reputation amongst the decision makers.
My recent activities/accomplishments within Roland Berger Strategy Consultants
Two weeks after joining Roland Berger, I was assigned to my first project for a transport operator. Our project covered all the activities of the client and involved a number of stakeholders from all departments. As a junior, I worked in close collaboration with my colleagues at the client site while being responsible for various topics.
Right after this project, I flew to Munich for a two week kick-off training with colleagues from all over the world. I was amazed to see how all these people from very different cultures and backgrounds shared common vision and values. All of us were proud to be part of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants.
