Alexandre, Consultant

My personal history prior to Roland Berger Strategy Consultants

After graduating from the university of Louvain-La-Neuve, I started my first working experience in Moscow. Having learnt Russian for 5 years as a hobby and with my degree of commercial engineering, I started working with a Russian business man.
My task was to find Belgian companies that wanted to invest in Russia and help them with their investment projects. This made me work in various sectors like dredging, real estate, industrial construction and logistics.

Besides being interested in Russia, I also enjoy travelling around the world. Meeting people from different cultures is for me one of the most enriching experiences. Lately I have discovered Central America (Guatemala and Costa Rica), Latin America (Brazil and Argentina) and South-East Asia (Thailand and India).

Why did I choose Roland Berger Strategy Consultants?

After the crisis and having worked for two years in Russia, I was ready for new challenges. I was looking for an international company with a strong presence in Eastern-European countries and that offered a challenging environment with various projects in different sectors. Roland Berger was the company that had all the strengths I was seeking.

Today, I am even more convinced that Roland Berger was the right choice.
The company structure and project assignments, requiring individual excellence supported by teamwork, make it possible to learn various skills in a very fast way.
Additionally, the close relationship with the colleagues from different backgrounds and experience levels makes it a daily enriching experience.
Last but not least, respect for the individual is core, which makes it possible to combine a demanding job with a social life.

My recent activities/accomplishments within Roland Berger Strategy Consultants

My first assignment was in Belgium and from day one I received large autonomy to deliver input to the project, while even presenting some of the results to the client. The task was to analyze potential growth opportunities for a large Belgian transport operator.

During the second project, I really understood that Roland Berger Brussels was part of a larger, truly global company as I worked on a project in Paris. The client, which was one of the largest French banks, wanted to analyze its strategy on a new distribution channel.

Finally, I also went to the two-week Roland Berger kick-off seminar, where I met new recruits from around the world.

All this made me realize that Roland Berger really invests in its consultants and tries to make work a lively and enriching experience.
